Musical Theater: Best of Broadway producer/director David McDonald personally leads this workshop which puts ona musical at the end of five weeks. Curriculum includes dance, acting & singing. Both newcomers & experienced performers are eligible, with experienced playing lead roles. Ages 8-16. 25 sessions, $195. Experienced performers audition (see note below) and will have some separate rehearsals. Core Dance--Jazz/Hip Hop Work Focus on strength, flexibility & endurance while putting these skills to work doing Jazz & Hip Hop. $59 per week;; additional weeks $44. Newcomers accepted weeks of June 16 or 23, then may continue. Experienced dancers by audition. (see note below) Core Acting Technique From script analysis to performance this workshop takes participants through modern acting technique and gives them usable skills to deliver monologues & scenes in a natural manner. $69/week; $49 subsequent weeks. (see note below) On Camera Increasingly, actors get their start in independent films, music videos, CDs and television. This course gives the special ins and outs of acting in front of a camera, including how auditions work, adjustments to movement and making dialogue real. Experienced only. Trequires consent of instructor.. Physical Comedy Rarely taught but often sought, the ability to generate laughter out of physical action gives dancers, actors & singers some bankable skills that are also a lot of fun. Improv: Performers need to be in the moment and spontaneous. Great for building confidence, especially in the 12-15 age group. Also great help during audition readings. Singing:: Blending technique and interpretation, this workshop will focus on building breath, an expressive voice and releasing the inner music magic. Scenes & Monologues Going from script to performance requires all of one's skills and knowledge be put to use.
